A Newark Advocate clipping from March 25, 1946. While the caption claims it shows Mahard heading home, according to letters from Mahard to Marian during his time in Japan, that is not the case. In fact, it is a staged photograph of Mahard in the "Ah So, Stateside" Red Cross train car during a trip he took to Kyoyo, Japan.
