Description
From website - Limited Edition. Broadside. Single-sheet measuring 14-1/2 x 7 inches. A Fine copy. Printed in an edition of twenty-five copies by Joseph Uccello in the Autumn of 2009 to mark the harvest time and the advent of Samhain. This is the poem In Saturn by American poet Clark Ashton Smith, published in his 1922 collection Ebony and Crystal. Inspired by the heady visions of the poem, the grotesque illustration was executed in miniature, using weasel hair brushes and traditional Chinese ink, and was reproduced at original size in the plate. The font is the elegant, organic, and opiate Eckmannschrift, an early twentieth century embodiment of the Art Nouveau style. Dampened Rives BFK paper.
